Prayer 7: For His Word to Feed Our Souls

2 Timothy, Promises, Psalm

Gracious Father. From the day we were raised spiritually from the dead into an intimate relationship with you through Christ, we have known and experienced the power and life-giving truth of your Holy Scriptures. Your God-breathed word is intimately communing with us and able to transform our very soul through teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training unto righteousness. Through this intimate ongoing relationship with you, we pray that we will be supernaturally overwhelmed with your love and readied and equipped to address every situation we face to bring glory, honor, and praise to you.

Father in heaven, your law is perfect; through it, revive our souls. Your statutes are trustworthy; make us wise. Your precepts are right; through them bring joy to our hearts. Your commands are radiant; give light to our eyes. May we reverently fear you Lord, which is pure worship, as your enduring truth secures us forever. Heighten our faith to trust the assurance of Your righteous ordinances.

I pray that we will more fully grasp that Your Holy Scriptures are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; that they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb. Bless us with an unquenchable hunger and thirst for your living word and shower us with discernment and wisdom when warning us. Bless us with faithful hearts of obedience leading to an overflowing life, unspeakable joy, and eternal reward as we trust you daily.

In Christ,

Blessings!

II Timothy 3:15-17
“15and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

Ps. 19:7-11
7 The law of the LORD is perfect,

reviving the soul.

The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple.

8 The precepts of the LORD are right,

giving joy to the heart.

The commands of the LORD are radiant,

giving light to the eyes.

9 The fear of the LORD is pure,

enduring forever.

The ordinances of the LORD are sure

and altogether righteous.

10 They are more precious than gold,

than much pure gold;

they are sweeter than honey,

than honey from the comb.

11 By them is your servant warned;

in keeping them there is great reward.

His word is nothing short of a miraculous supernaturally charged arsenal used by the Holy Spirit to breathe eternal life into His children (I Timothy 4: 5). (Pg. 116- Mistaken Identity)
