Prayer 72: God’s Precious Inheritance

1 Peter, Ephesians, John, Promises, Romans

Gracious Father, we humbly approach you, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the one true and indescribably glorious Father, imploring your Spirit to impart to us supernatural wisdom and revelation thus enabling us to intimately grow in our experiential knowledge of you. Through the powerful redemptive work of Christ—His perfect life, sacrificial death, and triumphal resurrection—you have adopted us as dearly beloved children, claiming us as your own inheritance.

Father, we already marvel that through Christ we are co-heirs and beneficiaries of your great love. Indeed, we have an inheritance that can never perish, spoil, or fade and gives us the right to sonship. But there’s more! Father, you declare that we are your inheritance. We pray that the eyes of our heart, that is, our innermost being, might grasp this incredible blessing. You, the Creator of the universe, are thrilled that we are your possession. Exponentially grant us deeper understanding of our glorious and powerful position as your inheritance. “If God is for us, who can be against us?”

As your beloved and prized possession, Abba Father, anchor our minds and hearts with assurance and faith that you are transforming us into your likeness as your perfect bride—your inheritance—so that the universe might see your glory, splendor, and majesty revealed. Oh Father, we overflow with gratitude, honor, and awe to be your cherished possession.

Father, we ask that we spiritually flourish as your endowment by experiencing and reflecting your incomparably great power; may the same power that raised Jesus from the dead and seated him at your right-hand yield supernatural strength in us as we face the daily temptations of the flesh, the trials of life, and the wiles of the evil one himself. Bless us to wield the mighty power of your love and truth as warriors fighting for your glory and deployed to impact the souls of all we meet. Truly Father, bestow on us resurrection power for your glory!

In Christ,

Blessings!

Romans 8:17
17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

John 1:12
12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of Gods—

Ephesians 1:17-21
17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.

Romans 8:31
What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
