Prayer 19: For a Home of Godly Influence

Colossians, Ephesians, Exodus, Intercession: Encouragement, Proverbs, Psalm, Romans

Gracious Father, it is such an honor to stand together in prayer. Today, we want to particularly thank you for close friends and their precious children. No doubt, when our children were born, we were awestruck by a capacity to love beyond that which we had ever experienced. Truly, it deepened our understanding of your love for us. Thank you for the blessing our children bring.

Lord, the responsibility to parent in a Christ-centered way is extraordinary; it is one that we can’t do on our own without your presence and power. I pray for them as they cling to you, that they would experience supernatural love, wisdom, discernment, and patience as they pour into their precious children.

Our children are commanded to honor us as parents; may we, as parents, continue to be empowered to serve as honorable parents, demonstrating constant hope and dependence in Christ alone.

Our children are commanded to listen to our instruction.; may we continue to overflow with Christ-centered wisdom, pointing our children to dependence and trust in Christ and His commands, which yield blessing and life.

I pray that our children would experience the rare blessing of seeing their mom and dad love one another with resolute commitment, gentle and kind interactions, and quick responses to forgive when wronged. I pray that they, if they have not, at the youngest age possible will find themselves accepting You, Christ, as their personal Savior and Lord. As they trust you, may each experience intimacy, identity, and influence found in you, Christ. May each discover how you have distinctly woven them together, blessing them with unique personalities, gifts, and talents; may they see clearly as you point them to their specific Christ-centered call.

Father, pour over their family a supernatural peace and joy as they seek to raise the name of Jesus high above all in their family and beyond.

In Christ,

Blessings!
