Prayer 34: For Wisdom in Times of Political Unrest

2 Timothy, Ephesians, Intercession: Life and Leadership, James, John, Philippians

Gracious Father, Your word promises us wisdom liberally if we ask. The time is now that we desperately seek your wisdom to stand on firm ground and live as salt and light in our country which faces political unrest and confusion.

Father, bless us with your self-sacrificing love for others. Keep our eyes steadfastly set on THE prize- that we may have increased opportunities and share boldly the gospel with many pointing them to the One True Hope, Christ Jesus our Lord. Make our lives a true overflow of your miraculous, transforming work demonstrated by Christ-empowered humility as we remember our one and only source of hope is rooted in Christ. And from that humble state, may we have clarity of thought flowing from your powerful word to stand as beacons of truth for what is righteous and just. May we speak your truth in love, presenting life and hope.

Father, may we live empowered by your loving presence full of peace, love, power, and wisdom!

In Christ,

Blessings!

James 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

John 13:34-35
A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.

Philippians 2:5-8
In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!

II Timothy 3:16-17
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Ephesians 4:15
Instead, speaking the truth in love,

we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.

Imagine knowing that kind of intimacy with Christ. Imagine knowing that level of love,
