Prayer 10: For Victory in Warfare

Ephesians, Intercession: Life and Leadership

Praying for powerful Christ-centered victory in your life!

Gracious Father, we stand together, Lord Jesus, desiring to raise your precious and powerful name high above all! We are humbly aware that we are in a fight for our lives as we stand for your glory. If, at times, we are naïve to the spiritual warfare we are encountering, grant us sober-mindedness and your mind of discernment creating in us a keen awareness. Remind us that we dare not enter an encounter with the evil one in our own strength. We only enter faithfully standing upon your promise that when we enter a spiritual battle, we will experience your mighty power yielding supernatural strength as we wage war against the devil’s schemes. We fight in this strength and power promised through Christ Jesus alone.

Father, we are reminded and assured by your promise in Ephesians 1:20 that the very same power that you used to raise Christ from the dead and seated Him at your right hand in heavenly realms is the same mighty power promised to us as we fight on your behalf.

Father, you have given us supernatural discernment and we know we live in the day of evil. Satan is attempting anything possible to defame the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord. His mission is to destroy your name, your people, and your church. We know that some of the ways he does this is by killing, stealing, destroying, lying, confusing, and deceiving. This struggle of powers and principalities is way beyond our understanding or fleshly ability to fight. We only enter these battles by faith and assurance that you, our good and faithful Father in heaven, have invited us to fight and will bring victory as you empower and protect us with your mighty armor, that is Christ Jesus himself.

Father, we humbly and dependently step into the good fight for Christ’s glory, standing firmly upon your precious truth against lies, distortions, conflations, and perversions. Growing out of the securing assurance of our imputed righteousness found in Christ alone, grant us wisdom and protection against false accusations and condemnation. Root us in the gospel of peace, fighting off all anxiety and fear. Shield us with unshakable faith as Satan hurls his fiery darts intending to induce evil thoughts or reactionary feelings. Provide resolute assurance of our eternal salvation without waiver, eliminating doubt. Impart wisdom liberally through your Living Word as we battle back the forces of evil. As we fight, constantly alert our minds to the evil one’s whereabouts and tactics as we remain postured in dependent prayer. May we fearlessly stand strong as ambassadors for your glory!

In Christ,

Blessings!

Ephesians 6:10-20
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
