Prayer 90: For Spiritual Nourishment

Isaiah, Matthew, Promises, Revelation

Gracious Father, we come at your loving invitation. You tell us your door is wide open. You cherish our response. How incredible! We come, having been justified through Christ’s sacrificial work on the cross; we were once utterly bankrupt and spiritually destitute but now are set free from sin and death. We are now your beloved. We come trusting and relying on solely upon you to quench our thirsty hearts. We come seeking complete satisfaction found in you alone.

Bless us with your living water. Holy Spirit, may we experience your presence and your empowering truth, intimacy in prayer, and your quiet and still voice which refreshes, cleanses, and guides. Like wine affects the body, overwhelm us with your presence manifesting joy, exhilaration, comfort, and gladness in our soul. Like milk strengthens the flesh, we trust that you Lord will provide everything necessary to nourish and strengthen our souls.

We come with empty pockets seeking what only you can provide—true nourishment and living water—to quench our hungry and thirsty hearts. Oh Father! Thank you for this gift.

We delight in you! You spare nothing to loving care for us.

In Christ,

Blessings!

Isaiah 55:1-2
1 “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.

2  Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare.

Matthew 11:28-30
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Revelation 22:17
17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (II Cor. 12: 9)
