Prayer 68: Beatitudes: Blessed are the Peacemakers

Character, Matthew, Romans

Gracious Father, oh, how you love us! We thrive as your blessed children because of Christ’s sacrificial and substitutionary death for us. We find ourselves marvelously secure knowing that where there was once sin, guilt, and condemnation that stood between us, we now stand with inseparable peace. As your children filled with gratitude and hearts experiencing the comfort and calm of your supernatural peace, may we overflow with your peacemaking passion.

When we are personally at odds with someone having experienced misunderstanding, rejection, misrepresentations, distrust, or betrayal, convict us when we want to naturally react with fleshly control and contentious attitudes which only exacerbate potential division, bitterness, and strife.

Instead, out of our identity, peace, and hope found in you, and empowered by your Spirit, bless us with patience and courage to seek understanding and exude a Spirit-controlled humility that would be quick to admit fault and seek forgiveness when we’ve offended or failed someone. If we’ve been wronged, and the offender seeks forgiveness, give us your heart to forgive, forget, and proceed forward in fellowship quickly.

If, after following biblical principled attempts to make peace fails, energize us to remain prayerfully hopeful for future relational restoration and unity. Protect us from any root of bitterness. Strengthen us to not lose heart while seeking Christ to generate personal peace and Godly confidence as we move forward. Always bless us with an intentional heart to strive to live peaceably with everyone.

May we be champions of the gospel of peace!

Father, when we experience those who are spiritually lost, make us courageous peacemakers by caring about their souls, listening to their point of view, and when opportunity permits, standing by them as a friend while always seeking godly discernment and timely opportunities to point them to Christ. May we be champions of the gospel of peace!

When we experience people at odds with each other, with a heart of humility and gentleness, give us courage to be active advocates for Christ to help explore and encourage peaceful resolution. As we mediate these difficulties and disagreements, protect us from enabling discord by seeking approval of one party or from fear of retaliation. Give us supernatural discernment, biblical wisdom, and timely communication trusting you will open each party’s heart to one another and deliver true restoration and unity.

May we be champions of the gospel of peace!

Lord Jesus, Your bride, the Church, is splintered with division. Where possible and without biblical compromise, may we engender a spirit of reconciliation resulting in unity; this unity is signified by your children who hold differences of opinion yet are willing to turn toward each other and embrace one another despite their differences.

May we be champions of the Gospel of Peace!

In Christ,

Blessings!

Matthew 5:9
9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Romans 8:1
1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,

Romans 5:1
1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Matthew 8:15-17
15 If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. 16 But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’ 17 But they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

Amazing! We enter His throne room as sons and daughters. We are warriors for the King of Kings. We are no different than Moses, David, Nehemiah, Ruth, Isaiah, Peter, or Paul… just different people living in a different era… but serving the same God who displays His love and power as he unveils His miraculous redemptive plan. History is unfolding as we speak... and we are a chosen part of His redeeming work. We have the ear of our great God. We are participants in His mighty redeeming work. We are invited to commune… to draw near unto Him. We are invited to seek. We are invited to ask. We, as the children of God, hold in our hands the honor to prompt God to move for His glory. Our God acts on these requests showering down lightning bolts of blessings. Can one estimate the privilege of prayer? Go! Go Now! Enjoy! Experience Him. Know that your Abba Father awaits your visit.
