Prayer 58: For Victorious Empowerment

1 John, Promises, Titus

Gracious Father, Your extraordinary grace has been made known to us, offering us salvation along with others. Thank you for the powerful sacrificial work of Christ that secures our everlasting blessing. We are equally thankful that you provide immense empowerment today to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions.
While the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life that once dominated us remains a bully, you Lord Jesus, rescued us from its dominance and now supernaturally empower us through your Spirit to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this present age. As
we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness—may we, as your people, experience your presence each moment. Manifest within us a heart of purity that sets us apart as wholly dependent and with an eager desire to do what is good for Christ’s glory!
In Christ,
Blessings!

Titus 2:11-14
11 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.

I John 2:16
For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.
