Prayer 46: For Christ Dependence

Intercession: Life and Leadership

Gracious Father, no doubt, we try every ounce of your patience. Yes! You have commanded us to be strong and courageous. However, rather than standing in the shadow of your presence and power, we often trust in self-dependence, self-effort, and self-generated satisfaction. When it runs dry, we find ourselves desperately weak, afraid, and discouraged crying out to you. You meet us in our broken and contrite position, patiently demonstrating your loving presence and power; you ignite in us hope, strength, and courage once again. Lord Jesus, rescue us from the allurement of this world and prideful control, blessing us with hearts of faith in Christ alone. You indeed are faithful.

When we face temptations of many kinds, it is you who are faithful. When we face trials, it is you who are faithful. When we face relational disappointments, it is you who are faithful. When we are betrayed, it is you who are faithful. When we face job insecurity, it is you who are faithful. When we face mental and physical health crisis, it is you who are faithful. When we face loss, it is you who are faithful. When we face financial crisis, it is you who are faithful. Your admonition is, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Faith in the face of trials is not natural for us. Lord Jesus, bless us with supernatural, transforming faith to always trust you. Bless us with the overflow of strength and courage.

In Christ,

Blessings!

Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord you God will be with you wherever you go.

The journey leading to spiritual victory doesn’t always feel good. It may take unexpected twists and turns. But it always ends in greater intimacy with Christ and true blessing. (Pg. 37- Mistaken Identity)
