Prayer 40: For a Heart of Praise

1 John, 2 Corinthians, Deuteronomy, Isaiah, Nehemiah, Praise, Psalm

Gracious Father, we stand in awe of your glory and lift praise to you. You alone are the LORD. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you. We praise you, God, because you are “the LORD, and there is no other; apart from [you] there is no God.” Who is like you, LORD God Almighty? You, LORD, are mighty, and your faithfulness surrounds you.

But as for us, we are poor and needy; come quickly to us, O God. You are our help and our deliverer; Lord, do not delay.

We praise you, Father, because God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. You are our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. You always lead us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and use us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. Your faithfulness overwhelms us. May we know, therefore, that the Lord our God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments. You are our refuge. My salvation and my honor depend on you, oh God; you are my mighty rock, my refuge.

May the name of Jesus be raised high above all in our minds, lives, homes, and ministries!

In Christ,

Blessings!

But Paul’s definition of victory had nothing to do with circumstances. For him it was much deeper. Spiritual victory was about Christ Jesus, the source of victory. His message was centered on knowing Christ. It seems that intimacy and companionship with Christ Jesus was victory. (Pg. 14- Mistaken Identity)
