Gracious Father, we were spiritually dead and hopelessly enslaved in captivity by Satan, the dominion of this world, and our old sin nature inherited through Adam. We were powerless to liberate ourselves. But you Father, through Christ Jesus, have rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son you love, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
A very precious price has been paid to liberate us—the very blood of Christ Jesus our Lord. We are now raised from eternal death and damnation to life in the fullest. We now experience freedom from the captivity of Satan. We now experience Christ’s kingdom of light rather than being dominated by the dominion of darkness. We now have a new nature and the Holy Spirit dwells in us. We are now forgiven, justified, and set free. and we boast about one thing. That is Jesus—He is our redeemer, our liberator, our righteousness, our sanctification, and the lover of our souls. Jesus is our exodus. He is our ark. He died that we may live. So let us boast in him alone by experiencing the riches of our salvation.
Now unshackled and living empowered by loving intimacy with Christ, we desire to experience perfect companionship replacing loneliness, peace replacing anxiety, freedom from guilt leading to confidence, purpose replacing hopelessness, and joy displacing heartache. We are quite sure we haven’t taken complete hold of these blessings fully, but one thing we do know: we want to forget what is behind and strain toward what is ahead, we press on toward the goal to win the prize for which you have called us heavenward in Christ Jesus.
In Christ,
Blessings!

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
