Prayer 52: Christ, Our Way, Our Truth, and Our Life

Hope in Christ Alone, John

Gracious Father, as you have communicated in your precious word, we live in a world filled with pain and helplessness outside of Christ. Looking for something different, many fiercely strive while others are mired in their distress. Sadly, all desperately chase in their own way only to experience ultimate emptiness, the pain of misdirection, lies and deception, and hopelessness. Truly, this world offers no way, no truth, and no life.

We come to you with exceeding humility, thankfulness, and peace having been raised from this state of death through Christ into a life-giving intimate relationship with you. You, Lord Jesus, provide the way, the truth, and the life. Through you we no longer find ourselves groping in darkness, but we experience a thoroughfare of relational intimacy. Where we once stood on the unstable foundation of the fleeting mirage of our own perceived ideas and virtue, we now experience empowering truth. And where we once lived hopelessly, we now truly experience life here and eternally.

Father, we ask that you might give us your compassionate heart along with your discerning eyes and ears to see and hear the desperate heart-cry of those around us. Break our hearts for them, leading us with a serving spirit and life-giving words to usher them to the feet of Jesus—the One who is the way, the truth, and the life. May we be beacons of hope leading all to Christ!

In Christ,

Blessings!

John 14:6-7
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”

As we pray, we find a safe place. We bask under His love. We share our praise and adoration for Him. We confess our sin. We shower Him with thanksgiving. We sometimes moan and grunt. We enjoy His community. We invite Him to speak to us. We listen. We invite Him to transform our heart. We make requests on our own behalf. We seek His heart and then make intercession in behalf of others. Our mighty God then releases lightning bolts of blessings. (Pg. 120- Mistaken Identity)
