Prayer 49: Uniquely Called and Gifted

1 Peter, Ephesians, Intercession: Life and Leadership, James, Psalm

Gracious Father, I want to thank you for how you have called and gifted us to carry out your ministry. I pray that we would be faithful stewards of your wonderful grace as we care for and speak into the needs of others. Lord Jesus, I pray, as we trust and serve you, whether speaking, serving, or any other manifestation of your powerful gifting, that we may utterly depend upon your mighty strength so that in all our ministry Christ’s name may be praised. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever.

Father, I pray we would sense faithful urgency based on your word regarding our calling. Life is brief!
You remind us over and over that:
“Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow.”
“For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.”
“So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.”
“All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls,”
“My days are like an evening shadow; I wither away like grass.”

Therefore, may we live very carefully, not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. I pray we would live making the most of every day rather than foolishly. Bless us with keen awareness regarding your direction as we pour into the lives of others for your glory. We ask that, rather than being shaped by the culture we live in, through Christ’s truth and power, we may shape the day in which we live.
In Christ,
Blessings!

I Peter 4:10-11
10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.

Ps. 90:12
So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.

I Peter 1:24

Ps. 102:11
My days are like an evening shadow; I wither away like grass.

Ephesians 5:15-17
15 Be very careful, then, how you live— not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what

Imagine what life would look like if we experienced true love, peace, freedom, and significance. Imagine the impact through our lives if Christ was that real to us. Christ came to meet us at our deepest level of need. He came to “do life” with us. He came to love us. He came to set us free. (Pg. 15- Mistaken Identity)
