Lord Jesus, because of your faithfulness to us in all things, give us trust and remove worry, allowing us to focus on knowing you intimately—the One True God who is full of glory and grace. For you promise to meet our every need in greater ways than we could ever imagine, even in what we will eat or drink or what we will wear. Certainly, if you meet the needs of the birds of the air and clothe the flowers of the field so gloriously, how much more will you abundantly meet our needs, for we are your precious children.
Therefore, as we trust you, our faithful provider, bless us with confidence and security in you. Eliminate our tendency to fret and worry. We ask this knowing that worry is faithlessness, and it only wastes energy, time, and distracts our attention from you. We confess how easily we operate as ones of little faith. We quickly fall back to our old way of life and chase fleshly remedies to fill our cups rather than seeking the riches of our inheritance in Christ. Help us with our unbelief.
Lord Jesus, give us faith in you washing away any worry. Lead us to flourish for your glory.
Father, open our eyes fully to your indescribable love for us and the unmatched eternal promises redeemed for us through Christ. Bless us with insatiable appetites to seek first your kingdom and Your righteousness knowing that, when secured, true life flows from you and provides for our every need abundantly.
In Christ,
Blessings!
John 6:25-33
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
