Prayer 28: For a Ministry Fueled by Christ

1 Thessalonians, Intercession: Life and Leadership

Gracious Father, we thank You for the privilege to pray for one another. We pray that our faith in Christ will continue to produce great work, our Christ empowered love will prompt our labor, and our hope in Christ alone will inspire endurance.

We pray that, as we live among the people of Christ’s Church and community, the gospel will ring out from us landing on the hearts of those loved and chosen by you, not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit, and deep conviction.

Bless us with a Christ empowered love so great that we are delighted to not only share the message of the gospel, but our lives as well. As we minister, bless us with the tenderness of a nursing mother caring for her precious children with constant attention and care. Like a good father deals with his own children, use us to encourage, comfort, and urge others to live lives worthy of their God as a kingdom dweller full of Christ’s glory.

At Christ’s return, may we find our hope, joy, and the “crown in which we will glory” which comes from this fruitful investment of the gospel in the lives of those he impacts through us.

In Christ,

Blessings!

I Thessalonians 1:2- 5
2 We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. 3 We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. 4 For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, 5 because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake.

I Thessalonians 2:7-8
7 Instead, we were like young children among you. Just as a nursing mother cares for her children, 8 so we cared for you. Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.

I Thessalonians 2:11-12
11 For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children, 12 encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory.

I Thessalonians 2:19-20
19 For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown in which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes? Is it not you? 20 Indeed, you are our glory and joy.

Jesus makes a bleeding woman well. He makes paralyzed people walk. He makes blind men see. He makes disease disappear. He makes demons flee. He makes dead men rise. He cannot be contained by men. He cannot be restrained by demons. He cannot be retained by Satan himself. Sin cannot befall him. Death cannot triumph over Him. Storms do not disturb him and the winds and the sea, they obey him. He rules over nature. (Pg. 71- Mistaken Identity) Christ’s dominion is eternal. His existence is everlasting, and His Lordship is unmistakable. Nothing confuses Him. Nothing thwarts Him. Nothing frustrates Him. Nothing masters Him. Nothing prevails over Him. His knowledge is infinite. His presence is universal. His power is without limits. He is exalted in the heavenly. He is master of all powers. He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning, and the End. He is the Divine One, the Son of God. He is the Savior. His life mastered perfection. On the cross He conquered sin.
