Prayer 15: For Transformed Lives

1 John, Colossians, Intercession: Life and Leadership, Matthew

Gracious Father, thank you for your perfect love for us. We pray that your love will saturate our inmost being, demolishing strongholds and manifesting unbridled peace, fullness, faith, hope, and love found in Christ alone. You said, “’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.” This request is only possible because Jesus first loved us and reconciled us through the shedding of blood on the cross.

Father, supernaturally transform our hearts to fully love you reflected in every aspect of our lives.

Transform:

Our affections- to love the things that you love.

Our purposes- to pursue only the things that you lead us to pursue.

Our relationships- as we thrive in Christ’s love, empower us to bless others and point them to you.

Our will- that we would choose things that bring spiritual light and life.

Our feelings- that they would be the fruit of your precious word.

Our character- that we would pursue godliness and purity.

Our thoughts- that we meditate on the truth of Your Word and live every day in the light of it.

Our time and money- that each day we would wisely steward these resources for your kingdom.

May we experience your promised fullness, overflowing in praise to the Holy Name of Jesus Christ our King!

In Christ,

Blessings!

Matthew 22:37-38
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment.

I John 4:19
19 We love because he first loved us.

Colossians 1:19-20
19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

The truth related with Christ’s redemptive power and promises yielded through His work on the cross are the living sustenance that provides us supernatural life and victory. The apostle Paul certainly viewed it this way…
