Prayer 3: For a Servant’s Heart

Colossians, Intercession: Life and Leadership

Gracious Father, like Epaphras, empower us with a servant’s heart. We ask you to bless us with the mind and heart of Christ, enabling us to hear the heart-cries of those around us; bless us with a sensitive and caring spirit to feel their pain, discernment of your voice to know how to serve wisely, a willing heart to adjust course to make room in our schedule to carry out your mission, and a sacrificial heart to serve out of the abundance of unlimited resources you have given us in Christ.

Of all service opportunities, we pray that we would become one who is “always wrestling in prayer” for others. Give us faith to genuinely believe we have the precious privilege to enter your throne room of grace through the precious blood of Christ and experience your intimate presence. Give us perseverance to wrestle through the distractions, busyness, and occasional laziness that so often steals this extraordinary experience. Bless us with true worship, communion, and the remarkable opportunity to lift those you place on our hearts before you, knowing that lightning bolts of blessings from your throne room will encourage and empower their lives as a result. Remind us that nothing can hinder these supernatural results as we stand in the gap praying for one another’s needs. May the results of this precious time in prayer render strength to those we pray for to “stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured,” giving glory to the name of Jesus, our Savior!

In Christ,

Blessings!

Colossians 4:12
12 Epaphras, who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends greetings. He is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured.

Jesus makes a bleeding woman well. He makes paralyzed people walk. He makes blind men see. He makes disease disappear. He makes demons flee. He makes dead men rise. He cannot be contained by men. He cannot be restrained by demons. He cannot be retained by Satan himself. Sin cannot befall him. Death cannot triumph over Him. Storms do not disturb him and the winds and the sea, they obey him. He rules over nature. (Pg. 71- Mistaken Identity) Christ’s dominion is eternal. His existence is everlasting, and His Lordship is unmistakable. Nothing confuses Him. Nothing thwarts Him. Nothing frustrates Him. Nothing masters Him. Nothing prevails over Him. His knowledge is infinite. His presence is universal. His power is without limits. He is exalted in the heavenly. He is master of all powers. He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning, and the End. He is the Divine One, the Son of God. He is the Savior. His life mastered perfection. On the cross He conquered sin.
