Prayer 101: Made in His Image

2 Corinthians, 2 Peter, 2 Thessalonians, Promises

Gracious Father, we thank you for one another and stand together in prayer. How extraordinary that we are bound together in Christ as your beloved! You chose us and saved us through the sanctifying work of your Spirit through belief in the gospel of Christ. You called us so that we might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. We pray that we will stand firm and hold fast to the teachings of your supernatural and life-giving word as it deepens our walk with Christ and transforms us into His image from glory to glory. Oh, the beauty of Christ! Oh, the blessing as He dwells in us! Oh, what promises! Oh, what peace! Oh, what assurance!

Lord Jesus, considering your very great and precious promises and faithfulness, and in complete dependence upon you, further enlighten us on the divine nature that we now possess and empower us to stand firm and hold fast, strengthen us when facing trials or persecution, and provide a way of escape from being swept downstream by the evil currents of this world.

When tempted, may Christ empower us.

When threatened, may Christ protect us.

When weak, may Christ strengthen us.

When lacking insight, may Christ give us discernment and wisdom.

When in distress, may Christ give us hope.

When fearful, may Christ give us peace.

When facing the darkness of this world, may the light of Christ shine through us.

May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage our hearts, and strengthen us in every good deed and word.

In Christ,

Blessings!

II Thessalonians 2:13-17
13 But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. 14 He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

15 So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.

16 May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, 17 encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.

II Corinthians 3:18
18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.

II Peter 1:4
Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

Jesus makes a bleeding woman well. He makes paralyzed people walk. He makes blind men see. He makes disease disappear. He makes demons flee. He makes dead men rise. He cannot be contained by men. He cannot be restrained by demons. He cannot be retained by Satan himself. Sin cannot befall him. Death cannot triumph over Him. Storms do not disturb him and the winds and the sea, they obey him. He rules over nature. (Pg. 71- Mistaken Identity) Christ’s dominion is eternal. His existence is everlasting, and His Lordship is unmistakable. Nothing confuses Him. Nothing thwarts Him. Nothing frustrates Him. Nothing masters Him. Nothing prevails over Him. His knowledge is infinite. His presence is universal. His power is without limits. He is exalted in the heavenly. He is master of all powers. He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning, and the End. He is the Divine One, the Son of God. He is the Savior. His life mastered perfection. On the cross He conquered sin.
