Gracious Father, our hearts leap today as we consider the cross and Christ’s loving sacrifice. We marvel at your redemptive, justifying, and atoning power. Thank you, that through knowing you, we have been established and empowered in You.
Father, this knowledge is not simply the mere accumulation of accurate information about you or a series of commands to follow. The power of the cross restored relational intimacy with you, a relational intimacy that had been lost due to sin that led to the fall of man. Lord Jesus, this “knowledge” (epignosis) is experiential and “exact, complete, thorough, and accurate relational connection with you.” It is not just an abstract, intellectual, head knowledge of you or even facts about you but the true living relational overflow of life and godliness for Christ’s glory.
Oh! What blessing to experience intimate connection with our Creator, the One True God, the King of Kings, and the lover of our souls. Father, once we were alienated from you and were enemies in our minds because of our evil behavior. But now you have reconciled us by Christ’s physical body through death to present us holy in your sight, without blemish and free from accusation.
Lord Jesus, your sacrifice was made with this intention in mind in order that we, and all those called by your name, by grace might be saved and restored into an abiding relationship found in you alone.
You are the vine; we are the branches. If we remain in you and you in us, we will bear much fruit; apart from you we can do nothing.
We pray today that we might rejoice and, without wavering, intimately seek and chase hard after you, Lord Jesus.
Let nothing hold us back. The pathway is cleared for us to come. We are thirsty. And you say, “’Come!’ And let him who hears say, ‘Come!’ Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.”
May we experience your kingdom and your righteousness knowing that all the blessings of your presence and power will be given to us.
In Christ,
Blessings!
